As part of the RamCompare project, semen is being made available to ram producers, free of charge, who wish to develop stronger linkage to the RamCompare project and try different breeding lines. This year, by kind permission of the BRIDFA Suffolk Breeding Group, there are a number of additional Suffolk rams added to the list.

Please note, for Autumn 2018 mating we will be using the widely used Suffolk ram, Drinkstone Distinction as the main reference ram in all eight RamCompare flocks.  A son of Bentley Supersire 2000, he maintains an index in the top 5 per cent of the breed, based on 462 recorded progeny. Consider using him in your flock if you want to benchmark your flock’s performance against other rams tested on RamCompare.

A full list of available sires is enclosed in the RamCompare Semen Order Application Leaflet.

Semen orders will be processed only on receipt of both the completed order form and the enclosed De Minimus Application Form.  This is necessary as part of state aid funding.  For further details and terms and conditions please see the aforementioned De Minimus leaflet.

Details of all rams selected as 2018 artificial insemination sires and natural service rams for use on the RamCompare commercial farms will be listed on our website during July 2018. For more information see www.ramcompare.com
